SungMin, formerly of Super Junior, is parting ways with SM Entertainment.

On the 30th, SM Entertainment announced the end of their exclusive contract with SungMin, expressing gratitude for the time spent together: "From his trainee days to his current status as an artist, we are grateful to SungMin for the more than 20 years SungMin has been with us."

The company also added, "We will continue to support SungMin's musical endeavors and his new beginnings. We ask for your warm interest and support for SungMin in the future."

SungMin debuted with Super Junior but ceased team activities in July 2017 due to a boycott by the fandom. Married to actress Kim Sa-eun in 2014, SungMin welcomed a son last September. Since 2019, he has transitioned to a solo singer and officially debuted as a trot singer in 2023.
