[SBS Entertainment News | Kang Sun-ae] SBS's 'Kkokkomu' (translated as 'The Story That Ties Together') is set to unveil the hidden behind-the-scenes story of the sexual assault case at Gwangju Inhwa School, known as the 'Dogani Incident,' which sparked national outrage and was adapted into a novel and film.

The episode titled 'The Dogani Story You Don't Know' will air on the 13th, revealing the untold stories behind the Gwangju Inhwa School incident and how the 'Dogani Incident' was transformed into both a novel and a film. The guests for this episode include actors Ha Yoon-kyung, Son Jun-ho, and model Byun Jung-soo.

This broadcast will particularly highlight the crucial eyewitness who played a key role in securing an 8-year sentence for the perpetrator, as well as the contributions of author Gong Ji-young, actor Gong Yoo, director Hwang Dong-hyuk, and the Inhwa School Sexual Violence Countermeasures Committee, which helped the affected children recover from the trauma caused by the adults' failures.

In an exclusive interview for 'Kkokkomu,' author Gong Ji-young shared, "When I read the last line of an article stating, 'The courtroom was filled with the incomprehensible screams of hearing-impaired individuals as the perpetrators were released on probation,' I felt as if I could hear that sound." This prompted her to travel to Gwangju the very next day to begin writing the novel 'Dogani.'

After the bestseller 'Dogani' was published, actor Gong Yoo suggested, "Shouldn't we make 'Dogani' into a movie?" Gong Ji-young expressed her desire to see the book's content brought to the screen so that more people could witness the story, revealing that Gong Yoo was the pivotal link in the film's production.

Additionally, director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who captivated audiences worldwide with the Netflix series 'Squid Game,' took on the direction of the film 'Dogani.' He revealed that he spent a month contemplating the offer to direct, drawing interest to his decision-making process.

The production team of 'Kkokkomu' stated, "The untold story of the 'Dogani Incident' that occurred at Gwangju Inhwa School will be revealed," adding, "The exclusive interview with the only eyewitness who played a decisive role in bringing the main perpetrator to justice will be aired for the first time. We invite viewers to look forward to the many stories of individuals who were crucial links in the hidden narratives that were not shown in the book and film, from the initial verdict that allowed the perpetrator to evade justice to the final 8-year sentence."

The episode 'The Dogani Story You Don't Know' of 'Kkokkomu' will air on the 13th at 10:20 PM.
